OPPORTUNITIES TO GIVE
$1,000 CLPR Friend
Your generous gift supports all of the Center’s work: the speakers, the policy briefs, the working groups, and the working papers. Your gift would entitle you to an opportunity to meet with the speakers during lunch and you would be invited to attend the working groups events. You also will be given access to the new Policy Briefs and Published Reports before they become publicly available.
$5,000 Policy Briefs
Your gift supports the publication and dissemination of our Policy Briefs series, which began in 1989. These briefs cogently outline an important policy issue and provide solutions for policy makers, practitioners, and policy advocates. These briefs are published on eScholarship and also on CLPR’s website.
$15,000 Summer Academic Support
Your contribution will support two undergraduate student Policy Interns. In partnership with our collaborating organizations, Policy Interns will be given mentored, intensive, practical opportunities to become a part of a community organization. Interns will learn to work with the media, write reports/press releases, testify at key policy hearings, and participate in key meetings with top government officials, corporate CEOs, and political leaders.
$20,000 Name a Speaker Series
Your generosity funds a dedicated working group focused on a policy topic for one year. The working group will frame the discussion and identify the critical arguments to bring the issues into clearer focus. The group will conduct research, hold public events, and present their findings in a publishable piece made available on eScholarship and CLPR’s web site.
$50,000 Public Service Named Endowment Fund
Your named endowment will create a new public service internship program for Cal undergraduates or graduate students who will work with Bay Area organizations serving the Latino community. These internships are critical for students as they learn to work as community-engaged scholars, identifying policy problems and developing the research tools necessary to develop research-based policy interventions. Your gift will be instrumental in securing a solid beginning for a talented student to learn how to conduct community-engaged policy research that is tied to political practice.
INVESTING IN EXCELLENCE
With a gift of $50,000 or more, an educational legacy may be established in your name or in honor of a professor, colleague, mentor, or loved one. Endowment principal is held intact in perpetuity and invested for growth to provide a steady flow of income to support CLPR’s mission.
Even as we strategically raise endowed funds through The Campaign for Berkeley to ensure this work in perpetuity, we recognize the urgent need for current-use funding. Gifts of any amount can be made online at clpr.berkeley.edu (click on “Donate” button above) or with a check made payable to the Regents of the University of California with CLPR in the memo line.
